SEATTLE - Blue Jays manager John Gibbons was discussing his lineup returning to old form Tuesday before his team faced the Seattle Mariners.

Adam Lind made his return to the lineup Tuesday and the Jays hope to get Edwin Encarnacion in the lineup Friday for the opener in Chicago.

"We're getting back to normal," Gibbons told reporters.

Infielder Brett Lawrie is the exception.

"Lawrie ain't coming back," said Gibbons, who later realizing how definitive he's been, and added "this week."

Lawrie is out six weeks with an oblique injury.

In Buffalo on Tuesday, Encarnacion went 1-for-4, the hit being a grand slam.
