Melky Cabrera’s 12th home run of the season leading off the seventh inning broke a 5-5 tie and sent the Blue Jays on their way to a 9-6 victory over the Texas Rangers Sunday afternoon.

Cabrera was also in the middle of a three-run uprising in the eighth inning, driving in a pair with a bases-loaded single.

It was the first time the Blue Jays have won back-to-back games since July 2 versus Milwaukee and also the first time the Blue Jays have won a series since that same Milwaukee visit to Toronto.

On the day, Cabrera went 3-for-5 with three RBI and two runs scored to pace a 15-hit Blue Jay attack, their most prolific offensive explosion in a month. Jose Reyes, Munenori Kawasaki, Dioner Navarro, Dan Johnson and Anthony Gose all had a pair of hits.
