TORONTO - The injury-riddled Toronto Blue Jays made a series of roster moves on Monday in advance of a big three-game series against the New York Yankees at the Rogers Centre.
The Blue Jays placed infielder Brett Lawrie (broken finger) on the 15-day disabled list and sent catcher Erik Kratz to triple-A Buffalo, while recalling outfielders Anthony Gose and Kevin Pillar from Buffalo.
Still to come is news on outfielder Jose Bautista, who was scheduled to go for an MRI on Monday after hurting his leg on Sunday in Cincinnati.
With Kratz going down, the Jays are down to two catchers -- Dioner Navarro and Josh Thole.
The struggling Jays lead the AL East by just 1 1/2 games over the Yankees and Baltimore Orioles heading into Monday night's action.
