The Philadelphia Phillies are the Blue Jays of the National League — a team with big-name, high-priced talent that is spinning its wheels and figures to be an active participant at the trade deadline.

Few expected the Blue Jays to accomplish much this season and the same goes for the Phillies, whose window of opportunity appears to have slammed shut.

The teams will battle each other over the next four days with the first two games set in Philadelphia and the final two at Rogers Centre.

In the NL East, the Phillies no longer are a formidable opponent having passed that torch to the Atlanta Braves and Washington Nationals.
