TORONTO - There is no rest for the wicked and certainly none if you happen to live in the American League East.
Following a 5-4 road trip that included a couple of blown late leads, the Blue Jays were given Monday off to catch their breath.
They’ll need the breather as next up on the ledger is six games against AL East opponents with the Baltimore Orioles first followed by the Boston Red Sox coming to town.
It’s early and all that but against teams in your own division you want to make a statement and not quite like the one that was shouted out by the Raptors general manager.
R.A. Dickey gets the start for the Jays on Tuesday and he’ll also be on the mound for Sunday’s finale against the Red Sox when it will be a Dickey Bobblehead Doll promotion.
So far, Dickey is not off to the start that either he or the team imagined.
In four games he is 1-3 with a 6.26 ERA. In 23 innings he has allowed 16 earned runs on 23 hits and a league-high 15 walks.
