TORONTO - The Toronto Blue Jays rode a gem thrown by starting pitcher R.A. Dickey to a 4-0 victory over the New York Yankees on Saturday afternoon at the Rogers Centre.

The knuckleballer went 6 2/3 innings, giving up five hits and one walk while striking out six for his first win of the season. The victory improved the Jays’ early-season record to 3-3, while New York fell to 2-3. Toronto also benefitted from a pair of defensive gems by centrefielder Colby Rasmus in the win.

The Jays opened the scoring in the second when designated hitter Adam Lind opened up the inning with a double to left-centre field and then scored on a Josh Thole single to left.
