DUNEDIN, FLA. - The Blue Jays roster is set.
All the questions have been answered with three games left in the spring training schedule.
Dustin McGowan, barring any setback in his final prep on Sunday, is the fifth starter in the rotation. Talk about a long shot coming across the wire.
Veteran J.A. Happ, who has not pitched well this spring, will open the season on the disabled list due to lower back pain.
Josh Thole will be the backup catcher with Eric Kratz optioned to triple-A Buffalo.
Moises Sierra will be the backup outfielder with Matt Tuiasosopo given all of two games to make the roster. He will likely be placed on waivers on Friday.
The Jays will open with an eight-man bullpen and due to Happ being on the DL, they will not have to put any of their pitchers who are out of options on the waiver wire. Talk about a convenient injury.
