DUNEDIN, FLA. - Blue Jays general manager Alex Anthopoulos has been busy scouting high school and college players throughout Florida the past few weeks but, obviously, he’s also been staying in close contact with the major-league club as much as possible. As the team heads into the final three weeks of training camp, Anthopoulos sat down to talk about a variety of questions the club still has to answer.

What follows is a snapshot of training camp to this point, in Anthopoulos’s own words.

The second base competition

“The more you watch Ryan Goins, you realize how good he is defensively. The bat, that’s something we’re going to watch. He has room to do less offensively because the defence is so elite. I don’t use that word lightly. I really think he’s elite and has a chance to win a Gold Glove there.
