DUNEDIN, FLA. - It’s difficult not to be blinded by the Florida sunshine.

And in 34 springs, we’ve been guilty a few times.

“Richard Wortham has a chance ... he might come over here and win 17 to 20 games.” — West Palm Beach, spring of 1981. Wortham was injured and never threw a pitch for the Montreal Expos.

“Syl Campusano is our centre fielder, Lloyd Moseby is our left fielder and (reigning MVP) George Bell is our DH.” — Dunedin, 1988. That dumb experiment was canned 10 games in, ending the Bell DH controversy.

“Joey Hamilton is going to be a force in this rotation for years.” — Dunedin, 1999. Hamilton made 46 starts in 21/2 seasons, winning 14 games, and was released.

This spring, not yet blinded by the Florida sun ... we put on rose-colored glasses for a day to ask the unthinkable:

What do the Jays need to reach post-season play?
