TORONTO - Last year at this time, Alex Anthopoulos was the Toast of Toronto, the King of Kensington if you will.

Having completed the big deal with the Miami Marlins and the trade for the reigning National League Cy Young winner, the baseball world was universally proclaiming Toronto to be the World Series winners and the Blue Jays general manager a genius.

Anthopoulos was overwhelmed by the response he was getting in Hogtown, how when he was driving heíd come to a red light, stop and have the driver in the car beside him honk to get his attention and then give him a big smile and a thumbs up.

As the season from hell has given way to the winter of discontent, Anthopoulos and the Jays have done next to nothing. They have ditched the underperforming J.P. Arencibia and replaced him behind the plate with Dioner Navarro. They have also made a few shuffles in the coaching department.

Thatís it.
