ORLANDO - There's a fairly large lake right outside of the JW Marriott hotel, site of this week's MLB GM Meetings. And as far as Toronto Blue Jays general manager Alex Anthopoulos is concerned, the guy who started the Jose Bautista-to-the-Philadelphia Phillies rumour should go jump in it.

Anthopoulos doesn't usually comment on rumours, but the 'Bautista to Philly for a package that includes outfielder Domonic Brown' rumour took on such life, the Jays GM felt on Wednesday that he had to throw a large bucket of water on it.

"Totally false, fabricated, ridiculous -- use every adjective you want," Anthopoulos said. "I understand if rumours have some legs to it, I get that. But the tough part is when they're completely fabricated, that's the hardest part."

"And the unfortunate thing is you have to come out and spend time responding to it," he added. "But I'm not complaining, I'm just shooting it down."
