BOSTON - That Blue Jays coaching staff for next season? It could have another vacancy.

The Washington Nationals interviewed Blue Jays bench coach DeMarlo Hale to replace Davey Johnson, according to the Washington Post.

The Nationals have already interviewed Arizona Diamondbacks third base coach Matt Williams and San Diego Padres front office assistant Brad Ausmus, as well as Nationals coaches Randy Knorr and Trent Jewett.

Hale, 52, has been a coach since 2002 with the Rangers, Red Sox, Orioles and the Jays. Now manager John Gibbons, already looking for a replacement for hitting coach Chad Mottola and first base coach Dwayne Murphy, may need to look for another hire.
