CHICAGO - When this baseball season started, the Toronto Blue Jays were hoping to play meaningful baseball games in September.

Well, it’s September and nothing could be further from that concept than Monday’s 3-2 Chicago White Sox victory over the Jays in a game that was supposed to have been played in June.

For the record, third baseman Marcus Semien hit a two-run home run for Chicago and Avisail Garcia hit a solo shot, both off Toronto starter J.A. Happ, in support of Jose Quintana’s ninth victory of the season.
