As the days dwindle down to the end of the season, the future of Ryan Goins as a second-base candidate for next year's Blue Jays continues to fascinate.

The kid is no longer rapping base hits at a .400 clip as he did for his first week or so in the lineup, but that doesn't mean he's not progressing as a hitter while continuing to play a stellar defensive role in the mid-infield. Sunday, he went 1-for-4 but the one hit was a poke to left field against lefty Felix Doubront, who was giving the Blue Jays a tough time.
