TORONTO - It has not been a banner year for J.P. Arencibia but, for a split second on Saturday, he had his moment in the sun.

In a screwy kind of game against the Kansas City Royals, the Blue Jays scored three unearned runs in the eighth inning to surge into a 4-2 lead — an inning set up by an error by shortstop Alcides Escobar on what should have been a double play, and compounded by the wildness of reliever Aaron Crow with a couple of back-to-back four-pitch walks with the bases loaded.
