HOUSTON - The fact that Chien-Ming Wang and Chad Jenkins arrived at Minute Maid Park in tandem Saturday should have been the first clue this was not going to go well.

Not even the Blue Jays’ tall thinkers had enough faith to bring Wang back from his exile at triple-A without somebody to back him up.

The last time Wang appeared in a Blue Jays uniform, July 2 against the Tigers, he lasted just five outs. The time before that, at Boston, he also lasted just five outs. In those two games, combined, he allowed 13 earned runs.

Saturday, he was not much better, giving up five runs in three innings on the way to a an 8-5 Houston Astros win that sends this pathetic Blue Jays outfit to its seventh consecutive defeat.
