Or so the old sayings go, unless it is in reference to Emilio Bonifacio, who takes off Thursday to join the Kansas City Royals.

Rajai Davis led off the bottom of the 10th with a manufactured double, sprinted to third on a Jose Bautista dribbler and scored when shortstop Stephen Drew was unable to field Brett Lawrie’s soft liner against the Boston Red Sox’s drawn-in infield.
