There are a lot of major league baseball players who are angry. Angry that they’re tarred with the same suspicious brush as the drug cheats. Angry that they have to answer as a group for the actions of a few. Angry that there are those who have amassed fortunes under false pretenses. Angry that those fortunes often came at some other clean player’s expense.

Mark DeRosa isn’t angry. In fact there’s a hint of sadness in his voice when he talks about the fallout from the Biogenesis scandal. This from a 16-year veteran who is as wise and as street-smart as anybody in the game. He has seen it all.

“It’s so tiresome,” he said Monday, after watching Alex Rodriguez try to polish his rusted-out image in a news conference.

“That’s what I deal with. I don’t even want to hear about it any more. It’s so tiresome.
