The Blue Jays rallied from three runs down in the late innings Sunday to avoid a first-ever four-game sweep at the hands of the Los Angeles Angels.

Down 5-2 after seven innings, the Jays took advantage of some sloppy LA defence to score a pair in the eighth and then two more in the ninth off Angels closer Ernesto Frieri to win it 6-5.

Edwin Encarnacion’s second single of the game drove home Rajai Davis from third base with two out to snap a 5-5 tie and give Toronto its third victory against four losses on this 10-game west coast swing.
