TORONTO - Any talk that the Blue Jays throw in the towel and start making moves for next year and beyond is an insult to Jays fans.
Yes, the Jays are 81/2 games out of a AL wild card spot and would have to leap-frog six teams to make it into the post-season.
But as long as there’s a chance, they have to go for it.
Jays fans have endured mediocrity since 1993 and deserve better than GM Alex Anthopoulos pulling the plug at the halfway mark.
When the Jays are mathematically eliminated, or drop further out of the post-season picture in the next few weeks, then AA can wave the white flag.
The Jays have been rebuilding for 20 years. Waiting a couple more months before another rebuild won’t matter.
Fan turnout this season has been spectacular and it’s up to AA to pull out all the stops to right this ship and try to reward that loyalty.
