Saturday’s downward spiral started with Brandon Morrow’s poor decision after a bobble.

With one out in the third and Jayson Nix on first base, the Toronto Blue Jays starter flubbed a David Adams comebacker. Instead of throwing to second for the force out – and a chance at an inning-ending double play – Morrow threw to first.

Morrow paid for it a batter later as Brett Gardner hit a two-out single to score in Nix and give the New York Yankees a 1-0 lead.

On the next pitch, Robinson Cano pulled a two-run homer into the right-field porch. Cano later hit another two-run homer in the fifth inning in what turned out to be just another Toronto beating in the Bronx.

This one went into the books as a 7-2 Jays loss before 45,577 fans.
