Ricky Romero gets early hook in Blue Jays loss to Rays
Toronto's winning streak stopped at three games

ST. PETERSBURG, FLA. - Ricky Romero didn't get dropped by a line drive.

Instead he got the quick hook, drop-kicked by manager John Gibbons.

Two days earlier, Gibbons sat and watched as veteran Mark Buehrle got battered around in his third inning for seven runs. Gibbons left him in the game and the left-hander supplied an additional three scoreless innings in what became a stirring 8-7 Jays comeback victory.

Gibbons had no such patience with Romero on Wednesday night.

Armed with a 2-0 lead courtesy of a two-run, first inning home run by Edwin Encarnacion against tough Rays lefty Matt Moore, Romero gave it right back.

In truth, he had nothing in a game the Jays would lose 10-4 to see their win streak end at three.
