It was the deal of a century.

It was the trade which would take the Blue Jays through the way-back machine all the way to their post-season glory days.

At this not-so-early date, one month in, it appears the 12-player deal should have been finalized on a Friday the 13th.

Did the five incoming Jays walk under a ladder arriving at the Tampa airport and then knock into a worker carrying a stack of mirrors?

Mark Buehrle made his sixth start for the Jays and was roughed up for a fourth time in a 10-1 shellacking by the Boston Red Sox before 21,094 fans at the Rogers Centre on Wednesday night.
