TORONTO - A players-only meeting is usually the final act of desperation but that’s where the Blue Jays found themselves on the weekend.

A pre-game players’ tete-a-tete in the bowels of Yankee Stadium on Sunday didn’t do the trick and the reeling Blue Jays came home looking for answers.

On the final day of a cruel month where nothing seemed to go their way, the Jays found a path against a Red Sox team that normally shows no mercy — snapping their four-game losing streak with a thrilling, seesaw 9-7 victory.
