It was just a couple of weeks ago that the Blue Jays were thinking that they would have to find their closer for the start of the season behind door No. 3.

At that time, Casey Janssen, who came on last year to nail down saves in 22 of 25 save situations, need to back off from his throwing program due to feeling something in his shoulder, the same shoulder that required off-season minor surgery.

Sergio Santos, who opened up as the Jays closer last season and lasted just six games before being sidelined the rest of the season with shoulder inflammation, felt something in his triceps muscle in his right arm about two weeks back and had to back off, too.
