Jays' Santos on pace to be ready for start of season
By KEN FIDLIN, QMI Agency

If Casey Janssen (below) falters in his role as closer this season, Sergio Santos will be waiting in the wings. (Reuters)

There is much to be learned this spring about the complexion of the Blue Jays bullpen. It goes well beyond the 12-15 candidates general manager Alex Anthopoulos has assembled to compete for seven relief roles.

See, for all the many and varied improvements the GM has made to the team, there remains that sliver of doubt at the back-end of the bullpen. Casey Janssen did an outstanding job in 2012, coming late to the role after Sergio Santos’ shoulder went bad coming out of spring training and after Francisco Cordero was all kinds of awful as Santos’ replacement.

Is the season lost for the Toronto Blue Jays or is there still time to turn things around?
Plenty of time to get it turned around
They're quickly running out of time
It's lost. When do the Argos start?
It was over before it began
