TORONTO - The questions of Melky Cabrera are many and the answers, with spring training just days away, won’t be so forthcoming.

It has never been his way. For one thing, Cabrera rarely gives interviews and when he does it’s usually with the aid of an interpreter. So expecting any clarity on Cabrera’s past, his positive test for elevated levels of testosterone in San Francisco last season and the damning recent evidence of involvement with the Miami “biochemist” Anthony Bosch puts all that is anticipated about the Blue Jays new season in some kind of doubt.

It was dubious enough that Cabrera missed 50 games due to suspension last season with the Giants and was not brought back by the team when he was eligible to rejoin them. That by itself is damning. But that recent investigation into Bosch, which has put Alex Rodriguez’s future in all kinds of doubt, showed 14 mentions of Cabrera in Bosch’s records and has details of what he was apparently buying in 2011 and 2012.
