Reigning NL Cy Young winner and new Toronto Blue Jays pitcher R.A. Dickey will play for the U.S. team at the World Baseball Classic in March.

Dickey, the knuckleballer who won the Cy Young in 2012 with the New York Mets and was traded to Toronto in December, headlines an American starting pitching staff that also includes Ryan Vogelsong, Kris Medlen and Derek Holland.

Former MVPs Ryan Braun, Jimmy Rollins and Joe Mauer were also named to the squad. The team is managed by Joe Torre.

The U.S. team will play in Pool D along with Canada, Mexico and Italy. First round games will take place at Chase Field in Phoenix, Ariz., from March 8-10.

Is the season lost for the Toronto Blue Jays or is there still time to turn things around?
Plenty of time to get it turned around
They're quickly running out of time
It's lost. When do the Argos start?
It was over before it began
