BRADENTON, FLORIDA - The Pittsburgh Pirates traded right-handed pitcher Ryota Igarashi to the Toronto Blue Jays in exchange for a player to be named later or cash considerations.

Igarashi, who was signed as a minor league free agent in December, went 4-1 with a 4.66 ERA in 45 games for the New York Mets last season.

The 32-year-old had an 8.68 ERA in nine spring training contests this year for the Pirates.
