Bowden pegged as D.C. GM

Jim Bowden, formerly of the Cincinnati Reds, will be named as general manager today of the new Washington, D.C. franchise.

The Montreal Expos are headed for Washington, however, little work has begun for the new team to be ready by opening day 2005. Major League Baseball still owns the club will now try to auction the club off to prospective bidders.

Former Boston Red Sox GM Dan Duquette was also interested.
