By plucking Brad Mills off the waiver wire Alex Anthopoulos has cemented my theory that he is attempting to re-acquire every former Blue Jay in the league.

I can see him perched like a cat at a mouse hole which as far as the general manager is concerned is the waiver wire.

Those dopey Oakland A’s thought they could sneak Mills through the waiver wire but the ever vigilant Anthopoulos was there to scoop up the 29-year-old lefty.

To make room for Mills the Jays needed room on the 40-man roster and to do that they designated right-hander Deck McGuire for assignment. To make room for Mills on the 25-man roster, they optioned right-hander Chad Jenkins back to Buffalo for the umpteenth time.

McGuire was the Jays first-round pick and 11th player taken overall in 2010, while Jenkins was a first-rounder in 2009 and the 20th pick overall so those top draft picks seem to be working out just fine. More on that another time.
