Only a few months after being kidnapped and held for ransom, Vi Ripken, the mother of hall of famer Cal Ripken Jr., was reportedly involved in a carjacking attempt in a bank parking lot Tuesday outside Baltimore.

According to WBAL, a man apparently pulled a gun on Mrs. Ripkin and demanded her vehicle.

He eventually fled the scene after the panic horn on a car was activated.

Police confirmed to WBAL that a man identified from nearby ATM surveillance video was arrested a few hours later and charges are pending.

Mrs. Ripkin was kidnapped in July before being found in her parked car 24 hours later.

Her family has since put out $100,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in the case.

Cal Ripkin, a 19-time all-star with the Baltimore Orioles, is currently in Los Angeles as part of a broadcasting team for the National League Championship Series.
