PITTSBURGH - Michael Wacha has flirted with greatness before.

Like his final start of the regular season, when Washington National Ryan Zimmerman singled off the St. Louis Cardinals hurler's glove to break-up a no-hit bit with two out in the ninth inning of a 2-0 win Sept. 24.

And wearing Texas A&M Aggies colours, he faced Texas Tech at the Big 12 championship as a freshman in 2010 before losing his bid for perfection in the sixth.
