DETROIT - Both teams came into the game praying for some offence.

The baseball gods answered one.

Showing some collective pop for the first time, the Oakland Athletics banged out six extra-base hits, including three home runs, to dump the offensively challenged Detroit Tigers 6-3 Monday afternoon and take a 2-1 lead in their best-of-five American League Division Series.
