While MLB ponders doing away with September callups -- yes, it is unfair to play by a different set of rules for the key final month of the season -- deeper fantasy leagues will continue to mimic the rule by allowing one extra player, beginning Sunday.

That player is costly to add ($50 in most leagues with a $25 contract) so it’s a good idea to get it right.

For those owners who don’t have someone waiting on their reserve lists and have to dip into the swelled pool of minor-leaguers being summoned in September, the pickings are usually slim. Most callups are bullpen arms or role players but, there are always a few -- most often on non-playoff teams -- who will be given decent playing time and can contribute to a fantasy stretch drive. Here are a few who could be available:
