NEW YORK - The Blue Jays suffered a train wreck at Yankee Stadium.

On a black day in the Bronx the Jays lost two games and two players as their season from hell dropped deeper into the abyss. Backdropped against being on the short end of 8-4 and 3-2 scores, the Jays had both Jose Bautista and Maicer Izturis come up lame.

Bautista took himself out of the first game with soreness in his left hip. After the nightcap his injury was announced as a bone bruise and he was placed on the 15-day disabled list.

In the second game, Izturis suffered a left ankle sprain when he hit the bag at first at full speed in the fifth. He was limping noticeably in the clubhouse and is day to day.
