It has been nine years since the Montreal Expos moved to Washington D.C. and a group of Montreal baseball fans hope it won’t be another nine before they get their team back.

Close to 1,000 Expos fans were in attendance at Saturday’s Toronto Blue Jays game. They came to deliver a clear message to Major League Baseball: Montreal wants their boys of summer back.

Expos Nation, the grass roots organization with over 155,000 Facebook likes, has been raising awareness that Montreal remains a passionate and economically viable city for Major League Baseball.

“The movement has legs,” exclaimed Matthew Ross, the head of Expos Nation and lead organizer of the trip to the Jays game. “I think today will open the eyes of a lot of the media who think Expos Nation was seven people sitting around a basement."
