NEW YORK - The most courageous man in the room was not commissioner Bud Selig, who has a fight on his hands with the Biogenesis investigation.

Players Association boss Michael Weiner came into the second floor ball room in a wheel chair as he continues his battle against brain cancer.

Weiner expects the investigation into performance-enhancing drugs to be concluded within a month, guessing appeals and arbitration could last past the end of the season.

Selig was less specific , who spoke earlier in his 11th annual state of the union at the Baseball Writers Association of American luncheon in Manhattan on Tuesday, saying: “The only thing I can say about the investigation is that it’s thorough, it’s comprehensive and it’s aggressive. When they’re done with the investigation, that will be the time no matter what time of the season is it. We have to do what we have to do.”
