TORONTO - If you’re an ex-Blue Jay, when you return to Toronto, you want the Rogers Centre fans to boo you. In fact, you’d probably beg them to.

Three former Jays who have played at the Rogers Centre this season were booed (to various degrees) and then went yard. First it was Alex Rios of the Chicago White Sox on Wednesday, and then Lyle Overbay and Vernon Wells of the Yankees on Friday night, as New York crushed the Jays 9-4.

And don’t forget ex-Jays manager John Farrell getting booed unmercifully when the Boston Red Sox arrived in Toronto for a weekend series, April 5-7, and the Beantowners won two out of three.

Maybe Jays fans should leave well enough alone.

Bautista’s back, baby

Blue Jays slugger Jose Bautista played Friday after missing four straight games with back spasms, though he wasn’t 100%.
