The combination of power, batting title potential and first-base eligibility should make Giants' Buster Posey the first catcher off the board, perhaps even as high as late in the first round. (Reuters)

OVERVIEW: Deeper than a year ago with the return of V-Mart and the emergence of Yadier, Rosario, Perez and J. Montero … Plenty of power here but you’ll have to pay to keep your AVG respectable … Mauer, Pierzynski and Napoli will all be drafted higher than they really should be … Posey is the only possible first-rounder here, and he definitely won’t get past the second … Ruiz and Grandal will come cheaper, go later, because of their 50-game suspensions, but could pay off nicely if you can plug with someone decent ... There should be plenty of solid, but unspectacular, choices in Rounds 12-15 who can chip in with some HRs.
