Los Angeles Dodgers right-hander Zack Greinke is in Los Angeles to have his throwing elbow checked out on Monday after complaining of irritation.

The Dodgers told the Los Angeles Times that Greinke was sent to Dr. Neal El Attrache to have the elbow examined. He felt the discomfort after throwing on Sunday.

Greinke signed a $147 million contract with the Dodgers in the winter. It is the richest contract of any right-handed pitcher in history.

He has not had elbow problems in the past.

The Dodgers have starter depth. Clayton Kershaw, Josh Beckett, Chad Billingsley and Hyun-jin Ryu are in the rotation and Chris Capuano, Aaron Harang and Ted Lilly are among those who could fill in for Greinke.

Is the season lost for the Toronto Blue Jays or is there still time to turn things around?
Plenty of time to get it turned around
They're quickly running out of time
It's lost. When do the Argos start?
It was over before it began
