Tigers will rule AL Central again

Each day this week, the Sun will be looking at the eight key issues, problems and developments facing the teams in the six divisions of Major League Baseball. Today we look at the American League Central.

Is 2013 a cakewalk for the Tigers?

Last year was supposed to be a walk in the park for the Tigers, too, but things didn’t turn out that way. The White Sox gave Detroit an unexpected tussle and the Tigers didn’t get into gear until the final month of the season. They finished with just 88 wins. We don’t think the Tigers will be so nonchalant about the regular season this time around. The Tigers not only didn’t lose any of their top players, but made upgrades to their lineup with the addition of Torii Hunter as well as the return of Victor Martinez from injury. But their greatest motivation is the bitter World Series loss to the San Francisco Giants. They enter spring training still feeling the sting of humiliation from that four-game sweep.

Do you think MLB is taking it too far by having teams open the 2014 season in Australia?
  Yes
  No
