The Reds have signed veteran pitcher Armando Galarraga to a minor-league contract.

The six-year veteran has pitched for the Astros, Rangers, Diamondbacks and Tigers. It was in 2010 with the Tigers, that Galarraga nearly threw a perfect game only to have umpire Jim Joyce incorrectly rule a runner safe on what would have been the 27th out.

The 31-year-old right-hander was with Houston last season, compiling an 0-4 record with a 6.75 ERA in five starts.

For his career, Galarraga has a 26-34 record with a 4.78 ERA in 91 starts and nine relief appearances.

Is the season lost for the Toronto Blue Jays or is there still time to turn things around?
Plenty of time to get it turned around
They're quickly running out of time
It's lost. When do the Argos start?
It was over before it began
