The Seattle Mariners have extended the contract of ace Felix Hernandez for another seven years, according to the USA Today.

Hernandez, 26, was reported to be signing a deal worth $175 million Thursday, making it the highest contract ever for a pitcher.

The 2010 American League Cy Young award winner pitched the 23rd perfect game Aug. 15, 2012 against the Tampa Bay Rays.
