ATLANTA - Alex Rodriguez tied Lou Gehrig's major league grand slam record Tuesday night with the 23rd of his career.

Rodriguez homered with the bases loaded in the eighth inning against the Braves to tie the game at 4-4.

The run he scored on the play was the 1,859th of his career, tying him with Mel Ott for 11th all-time. His 1,922 RBI are two shy of Jimmie Foxx for sixth place.

Gehrig, of course, played all 17 of his major league seasons with the Yankees.
