David Wright, who carried a league-leading .400 batting average into Monday night action, will be getting a long-term offer from the New York Mets, the Wall Street Journal has reported.

The Mets have a $16-million team option on Wright, 29, for 2013 but want to lock up the third baseman on a long-term deal.

Wright leads the Mets in hits, runs, triples, RBI, walks, total bases, and stolen bases.

Is the season lost for the Toronto Blue Jays or is there still time to turn things around?
Plenty of time to get it turned around
They're quickly running out of time
It's lost. When do the Argos start?
It was over before it began
