Multiple U.S. news agencies are reporting Carl Beane, the public address announcer at Boston’s Fenway Park, was killed in a single-car accident in Sturbridge, Massachusetts Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Boston Globe, Beane’s Suzuki crossed over a road and crashed into a tree and wall before golfers at a nearby course contacted emergency personnel around noon.

A fixture in Boston since 2003, the 59-year-old recently voiced exhibits at Major League Baseball’s Hall of Fame and was the in-stadium announcer for the 2004 and 2007 World Series games at Fenway.
