Pudge to call it a career

ARLINGTON, TX - Ivan Rodriguez, the career leader with 2,427 games caught, will announce his retirement Monday.

Rodriguez, 40, will make it official at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington, Texas after a 21-year career.

He spent parts of 10 seasons with the Rangers. He was the catcher for the Washington Nationals the past two seasons and also has played for the Marlins, Tigers, Yankees and Astros.

Rodriguez had a career average of .296 with 311 home runs and 1,332 RBI and won a record 13 Gold Gloves.
