Former MLBer Clyburn shot and killed
By QMI Agency

A former major league outfielder died Tuesday after being shot at his home in Lancaster, S.C.

An acquaintance has turned himself in to police.

Danny Clyburn Jr. was found dead at about 2 a.m. in the front yard by police, who were responding to reports of shots being fired.

Witnesses said a man had been arguing with Clyburn moments before the former outfielder was shot.

Derrick Lamont McIlwain, 36, was arrested and charged with murder after turning himself in.

Clyburn, 37, played in 41 games over three seasons for the Baltimore Orioles and Tampa Bay Rays during the late 1990s.
