Darvish deadline approaching for Rangers
By The Sports Xchange

Japanese pitcher Yu Darvish could be playing in the Majors next season. If the Rogers coughs up some serious dough, Darvish just might be wearing a Jays uniform. (USPRESSWIRE)

With the deadline for the Texas Rangers to sign Yu Darvish quickly approaching, the sticking point remains contract length.

Texas has until 4 p.m. CT to agree with Darvish, or the highly touted pitcher will return to Japan. According to Yahoo! Sports, the Rangers want to a six-year deal similar to the one Daisuke Matsuzaka signed in 2007, but Darvish prefers five years, so he can enter free agency sooner.

The report describes the chances of an agreement falling through as “minimal.”

Is the season lost for the Toronto Blue Jays or is there still time to turn things around?
Plenty of time to get it turned around
They're quickly running out of time
It's lost. When do the Argos start?
It was over before it began
